Comprehensive range of services tailored to your bird tracking needs
Our radars can automatically record birds in flight, their speed, altitude and trajectories, providing valuable data to monitor bird migration and to assess collision risk with power lines, wind farms and airport traffic.
We face all aspects of radar applications to bird monitoring: from study design, through data collection and elaboration up to report writing. We identify species by direct observation, while complementing this information through our tracking software, producing a real-time database of bird movements.
Our radar systems are portable and we have worked around the World on a variety of projects to assess bird collision risks over airports, to carry out environmental impact assessments for power lines and offshore wind farms (Italy), for research purposes in Chile, in the Canary Islands and in Mexico.
We are used to work in harsh environments with our mixed team of radar operators and ornithologists. Our radars can detect birds at night, in the fog, and up to 11 km for big flocks, and can be operated remotely, if logistics allows.
